A Hostel in the Heart of Ottawa for the Traveling Woman
The Ideal Location
Here to absorb some local or national history? We are in one of Ottawa’s oldest neighbourhoods, where Prime Ministers lived, down the street from Parliament! Looking for culture? World class performance venues (NAC) or conference centers (Shaw), festivals, and national museums are only a walk away! The Byward Market is around the corner for grocery food, restaurants, nightlife, and mall shopping at the Rideau Shopping Center.
The Barefoot Hostel is a female-only hostel (since September 2016) operated by the Swiss Hotel next door (89 Daly Ave.), housed in a 100-year-old traditional red-brick house with a stylish interior, modern lighting and bright colours at a budget that will please the mindful traveler! Our location makes everything accessible, and after a day of exploring the town watch a movie or some TV, enjoy our wireless internet, and on a nice summer day use our patio!
Our hostel is a popular landing spot for women traveling to Ottawa, whether they are solo travelers, young business professionals, undergrads, masters and PhD students, US Visa applicants. Larger groups can rent the whole house (16 beds) to enjoy complete privacy. Whether you are traveling for business or leisure, you can’t go wrong with how close we are to the heart of the city!
